Chicagoween’s Franken Plaza Extends to Five Days, October 26-30

When Daley Plaza’s fountain turns a festive shade of orange, it can only mean the return of Franken  Plaza, the city’s Halloween celebration presented by UL, which runs five days this year, Friday, October 26 through Tuesday, October 30.

Returning once again will be the popular centerpiece of the festivities, Chicago’s Midnight Circus which has been entertaining the city’s Halloween audience since 1998, now in its 15th year at the Plaza and performing all five days.


Franken Plaza Comes Alive With Free Entertainment Daley Plaza Halloween Fun, October 28-30, 2011

Witches, vampires, princesses and cartoon characters are just some of the visitors you’ll see invade Daley Plaza as costumed children celebrate Halloween for three full days of free fun during Franken Plaza, presented by safety sponsor, UL, from October 28-30, 2011.

Franken Plaza offers plenty of free entertainment, trick or treat candy, arts & crafts, storytelling and more, including a kids costume contest with special prizes.

For more than a decade Chicago’s Midnight Circus has been entertaining crowds at Daley Plaza for Halloween. This year Midnight Circus performs an all new, gravity defying show that features heart-stopping feats of otherworldy acrobatics and wickedly wonderful theatrics. with plenty of tricks to treat both young and old.

Daley Plaza Becomes Franken Plaza on Halloween 2010

This Halloween, Daley Plaza becomes Franken Plaza for three days, October 29-31, with special performances, a Monster Bash –complete with prize give-aways, hayrides and trick-or-treating! Admission is free. Presented by Underwriters Laboratories.

Lucky number 13 strikes again! Thirteen performers from Chicago’s very own Midnight Circus perform at the 13th annual Chicagoween celebration. Watch as Midnight Circus defies gravity and amazes audiences of all ages with heart-stopping feats of acrobatics & spooktacular theatrics!

On Saturday, October 30th, don’t miss the Monster Bash complete with a costume contest and treats. Visitors to Daley Plaza (50 West Washington) are witness to its transformation into Franken Plaza where both kids and adults can take part in arts & crafts and see performances that will thrill.

Halloween can be scary, but Underwriters Laboratories and the city remind us to be safe by following these safety tips as you head out with your children. Add reflective tape to costumes or treat bags, make sure walkways are well-lit, and keep candles away from costumes and other decorations.
